Open Question: Moving while claiming jsa and housing? Open Question: Can I buy a foreclosed house without a real-estate agent?
Jan 23
Has anyone ever heard of New Line Equity? It is a Foreclosure Acquisition Company. If so, what was your experience with them??? Their website is: http://www.newlineequity.com Please share your experience. I researched them on the Better Business Bureau and luckily no complaints have been filed with them within the last 3-years, however they are not members of the BBB either, which concerns me. Any advice, thoughts would be appreciated.

They are a scam. If you try to call any of their phone numbers you just get dead air. not a good sign.

  5. shane Says:

Why don’t you think there aren’t any hits about them in the web? I have paid 40dollars to this company and it was well worth it and I would recommend them to friends.. That just means they have many satisfied customers don’t they?

  6. Rebecca Says:

New Line Equity is a scam. They spam Craigslist with bogus listings and tell you you have to register with them to access their site to see the properties. Not only do they get your personal information, but they sell worthless listings for $40. Avoid these people!

  7. Katy Says:

Just paid to view their listings over an hour ago. Still cannot access listings. Called, got hung up on. Called again, said they are having a slow internet connection but took my email address and said they would fix it. Still haven’t. The second girl that I talked to laughed when I told her the first girl hung up on me and said that she didn’t hang up, it was due to the slow internet connection, I reminded her that I was speaking to her on the telephone and no via the internet, HELLO!!!. I hadn’t even yelled or anything yet. In fact, I was very polite despite the fact that I could barely understand her broken English. Wait till I have to call again. They will have a real reason to hang up on me!

  8. Elle Says:

First and foremost, they hang up on you constantly.
    They cannot explain the process.
If you ask them how many listing are available they will say: there are 7 in all of the state of (in my case) California.
The pictures are not anything close to where these locations are.
You cannot understand a word they are saying.
SCAM, buyer beware. Don’t do it!

  9. bridget Says:

yuh,its a scam..they are just trying to fool people to get into there program..and its a shit..

  10. lorraine Says:

Yes, total scam alert (see also site below). I responded to a rental listing on craigslist and then received an email from “Belinda”, who posed as the homeowner and apologized for requiring the $40 registration for New Line Equity. Luckily I am very good at spotting these kinds of scams and I never even considered providing my credit card info. I hope they all end up rotting in jail.

  14. caro Says:

Thanks for the heads up on “Belinda” from craigslist. I almost fell for it, but lately have had really bad experiences with online companies, they are all scammers…

  15. James Says:

I am so glad I found this site, to read all of your comments. I just talked to Belinda but did not give her any personal info, but I did find out that many scammers will get photos of houses for sale and the info and post it on Craigslist as a rental or lease option to buy.

Don’t waste your money I called the first time and was told the price was $40 called again and was told by another broken English language speaking person that the price was $49. Total ripoff. 19. L Darnell Says:

And please don’t listen to SHANE, he must work with them, Shane should be SHAME!

  20. lisa g Says:

the company is completely fraudulent. they couldnt even find bank of america at first which is why i became suspicious aftr the 4 calls then they refused to conference my bank in with me. they hang up all time say their name is john smith duh get a clue u friggin foreign idiots then yank $$ out your account 3 weeks later. how do we catch them or how do they get in trouble for this?

  21. Gary Says:

I used to work for them…….montanadbag@yahoo.com if you have any questions, i will answer truthfully

  22. Kim Says:

After listening to endless music, the phone was finally picked up by a guy. I asked him his name, he said “Tony” and then said “Powers” after hesitating. I asked how do I know this isn’t a scam. He said google us..we have bad reviews and great reviews. I came here b/c it sounded too good to be true. No credit checks, rent to own after a year? If a customer doesn’t pay, the bank isn’t in worse condition than it already is? Hmmm. Close call for me…

  23. Craig Says:

I don’t know if they’re scammers or not. Honestly, it sounds like most of these reviews are from people who don’t know what they’re talking about. It’s only 40 bucks you lose out on if it is a scam. If you’re serious about buying a house, 40 dollars is NOTHING to lose. People crying about losing 40 dollars when buying a home aren’t really serious about buying a home anyways (especially considering the traditional home buying route costs more just for an appraisal).

Go to Wal-mart, but a pre-paid debit card for 50 bucks, make the 40 dollar payment. If it works then cool you don’t lose anything. If it doesn’t work and it is a scam then you only lose 40 bucks and you don’t give them any bank info.

I personally called them and was never hung up on. They were extremely polite, answered all of my questions, and the woman I spoke with even gave me her cell phone number if I had any questions after business hours. To test it, I called the cell phone number. She answered with just “Hello”, so at least they were honest in some way.

The woman I spoke with was Elizabeth, was not “foreign”.

I’m going to keep searching the internet for info on them, but everyone remember, that just because a few people say something is a scam, doesn’t actually mean it is. Of course it doesn’t mean it isn’t either. It’s best to find out for yourself.

Like I said. Pre-Paid 50 dollar debit card from Wal-Mart. you protect your bank info, and if you’re serious about buying a home 50 dollars is a drop in the bucket and isn’t serious money anyways.

  24. msteacher Says:

OMG Same experience! Gave them my 40 bucks They sent me one emial with a few listings The sales agent that took my 40 bucks said they assist with walkthroughs of properties, BS!! Im trying to cancel before they take another 40 bucks next month, I can’t beleive they get away with this. I would like to know if anyone was able to actually get a home from this service? The best way to get a lease with an option to buy is through a real estate investor, kind of hard to find but they are out there.

  25. spacecowgirl Says:

New Line Equity is INDEED a scam. Do not give them money.
They pull 5 random addresses off of http://www.zillow.com as your “matches”. These houses are not even foreclosed, and usually are already under offer or sold.
Their letters basically tell you how to write to the owners of these homes to ask them if you could take over their mortgage payments. Its basically a means to solicit home sellers.
They don’t provide any real service. DON’T DO IT!!!!

  26. Tory Says:

Craig you work for these dumbasses to you and Shane both can suck balls.
These people are full on scammers.
    Beware!!!!
Not one person has been able to give a real positive story from dealing with this company!!

  27. Lisa Says:

I experience the same thing. Yesterday I was looking for a house to rent under craigslist and found this listing with phone # 415-682-4237. I call them, a lady name Jilian answer, she told me that I can actually rent to own with no down payment, no security deposit, and no credit check and I fall for it. She told me she has over 300 houses listed with the zip code I gave her. If I pay her $9.95 for a 1 week trial, she say the purpose is to find a house in 1 week, I can cancel any time I want to. But if I don’t find a house in 1 week and would like to continue with their services, it would be $40 a week after the trial. She told me I will get the list in 10 mins, after 1 hour I call back, another lady name Judy picks up, I heard a noise of chicken and other animals in her background but I didn’t really pay much attention, she told I should receive my list in 5 mins, 2 hours pass by, I call them back. While I was waiting for 1 hour on the phone, I receive an email with a form attached that say “New Line Equity Account Generation Form” ask me to reply or fax it to them after filling it out. I reply & told them I am not signing anything, until they send me the list, expressed my frustrated and unsatisfied with their business. I get a respond back from customer support just ask to me to send them the form ASAP, luckily I didn’t. Today I try to call the # that the lady gave me for cancelling (1866-956-3051), the answering maching saying they are unable to answer the call. I figure, this is it must be a scam and I found this site. I contact my Pre-Paid Legal Services (Parker Stanbury LLP law firm) and file a claim. $9.95 may not seem a lot to someone, but it is my money, I work hard for it! No scammers will take it from me; these scammers will be hunt down!

  28. Max Thomas Says:

They post ads on Craigslist for rental properties that are available and then they do the bait and switch. They tell people, “why rent when you can own” They supposedly have a massive list of pre-foreclosure properties and get you into a home on a rent to own basis or a “subject to” basis. All of this is just a front, as they don’t provide the service, they are just interested in getting your credit card number so they can charge you $40 per week. You’ll never get what you ordered and when you try to cancel, no body will answer or return your call. This is a scam. My wife had to cancel her credit card to stop the charges.

  29. Belinda Thompson Says:

YES THEY ARE 100% SCAM! They’ve been operating since last year, getting credit/debit card and checking account info. Their website is http://www.newlineequity.com and not listed on BBB. They will get your personal info, use you email address to post ads on Craigslist! Will hack your credit card and use it online to purchase. They will tell you it’s a one time fee and you could cancel anytime which is not true! it will actually be $40 weekly or more and you could never cancel unless you call your bank and close your bank account! They will send you lists of properties which are rent to own, whic h they onky get from free sites online, they are just playing around so they could use your bank account info! they dont even know the name of their reps! The name of the owner is Daniel Date, his address is 1201 Lawton St. San Francisco CA but he’s now in the Philippinnes trying to escape the charges! Let’s do something about this!

  30. tony Says:

I worked there it is a scam. Don’t sign up with them! go to firststepequity.

  31. Karen Says:

YES it’s A SCAM! I worked with them for 4hours. I am new to the team and what they have told me in the training is really misleading. They told us that the customer will receive listings after paying $40! but the truth is they’re not! I found it when a customer ask me if the company is a scam, i told her it’s not. that we are legit. (I’m sorry maam. I really thought it was). Then she said she’s interested but i need to be with her on the phone when she receives the listings. I agree. I process the order and told my boss that he needs to send email ASAP. What Daniel did is he sends email but without listing! Instead, an email with a form to filled up and send it back through fax. That form also contains agreement that customer needs to allow the company to deduct $40 every month. Since I cannot answer all the question of my customer i told her to call customer service, she said she won’t hang up with me. SO i told her to do a three way calling. She did, she spoke to agent named Gerry, Gerry told her that she will tell the other department to email the listings asap. Customer say she will wait but Gerry told the customer that she needs to hang up. While me in the other line, while listening to their conversation im trying to argue with Daniel, telling him they can’t just take money of the customer without returning a quality service. He told me he don’t care as long as i make the sale. I told him it’s unethical, i was shocked when he told me that this is not the time to be ethical. What important is the people’s money. I was really upset, i can’t imagine that i apply for that f**k*** job! Gerry from customer service told the customer that he will do his best to help her, but he didn’t. I asked the customer if she can call her bank and ask for a refund, she told me she can but it will took sometime. Also, she expresses her fear that her details are exposed, and i was very upset too. I felt that i was the one responsible since i told her its not a scam. I really don’t know it’s a scam until that incident happen. I tried to stay to the customer and we tried to call again customer service but they are not answering. (We have caller ID maybe that’s the reason). I got disconnected from the customer when she tried to end the call with the customer service. I was upset, I wasn’t able to help her. If only i can give her back the $40 to clear my conscience. I really feel responsible, i really don’t know it’s gonna happen. I know that $40 is not small money, it’s her hard earned money. Daniel wife told me i was dumb. I should have told the customer that i am only responsible for registration and she should call customer service for her concern. But for me it shouldn’t be that way. That is not right. I should entertain her issue because i’m the one who told her to avail our program. BOTTOM LINE IS THEY ONLY WANT PEOPLE’S MONEY. THEY WON’T GIVE THE SERVICE THEY PROMISED.

To my customer, I’m SO SORRY. I’m now trying to look for a better job. I can’t work with a team of scammers. God knows how sorry i am for allowing you to pay the $40. If i knew it earlier it won’t really happen.

  32. Sarah Says:

I have had my debit card hacked into, in a city very close to San Francisco. They take $40 a month from my checking account and I only got one e-mail from them with some forms that weren’t even something I could use to aquire the property. I had to cancel the debit card, but they still have access to billing my bank. I finally realized it today and called to cancel my registration. They said they are sending me a confirmation e-mail to fill out and send back to them.
    JUST FIND ANOTHER COMPANY!!

  33. Jen Says:

Thank you so much whoever posted these messages. I saw the ad on craigslist and googled the name. Thankfully, I did NOT give them my $$$. Its unbelievable how people scam these days and craigslist really should do something to change the way they list things.

  34. Minchen Says:

I signed up with them. They were going to send me an email with instructions on how to get started. I received nothing. Two days later I place a call to inquire. They try to get me to spend more money. I told them I already paid. (The guy spoke very poor English). Now, they say they will send me an email within 2 hours. We’ll see! I have a bad feeling about this. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

  35. Stef Says:

This business is a SCAM. They post spam on Craigslist to call their company and join their services for a fee then they continuously charge you.
The owner is Daniel Date address: 1201 Lawton St, San Francisco, ca 94122 personal email is Organic_ly@yahoo.com

Report them to your local district attorneys office.

  36. James Says:

they are a scam. i used to work for them for a month and found out they werent helping people at all! dont trust them. if you want to talk to them you can skype them look up New Line Equity on skype. dont trust them!

  37. Rod McQueen Says:

I was just had by these scammers. I gave them my credit card information and they said, that I would be receiving an e-mail within 5-7 minutes with access information to see listings of homeowners looking for someone to assume there modified mortgages. I received an e-mail but, it was to there web-site with non-working phone numbers and links that do not work. I recommend all to stay away from these scammers. They got me for $69.99 which they immediately charge to your card. I called the number that was given to talk with Customer Service and was immediately hung-up on when I asked about getting access to the list of ”homeowners”.

  38. Paul Says:

I’m not sure if i can call it a scam. i found site after having having signed up with their service and it scared the shit out of me reading these posts. I received my listings and the documentations coherent. If they took any ones money and they did not receive their listings, well that is wrong, but i received every thing i was sold on and i’ll stop back by if there are any new developments. I am serious about getting into a home and the listings appear to be up to date.

  39. Joe Says:

I signed up with them a couple of days ago and recived the listings 24hrs after I paid my initial set-up fee. New line equity is only providing you list of homeowners that want to save there credit. Its a great program where you do everything on ur own to find a great property. All these peolpe saying its a scam are just lazy and dont want to do anything but sit there and have everything done for them. COME ON AMERICA ITS TIME TO DO THINGS FOR OURSELFS… newlinequity steps: (1 Sign up (2 fill out form and send back (3 recieve listing and go look for a place… How hard can that be???

NO SCAM!! I found my house in 1 week…

  40. dtyler Says:

Im sorry but it reads scam all over the place. If you find them on CL just flag them as prohibited. As for the posters “supporting” them, yeeaaahh…I call bullshit. They were either paid, or work for them. All it takes really is someone to get pissed off enough to call the BBB and let them do the investigating. By the way…”Joe” its ourselves.

  41. Erika Sims Says:

Me and My brother in law got a good duplex home from New Line Equity. We got this property in Meckenlenburg in Charlotte. I was doubtful at first but their registration is too cheap so I tried it. I even extended my membership coz I would like to get another good investment.

  42. NEW line Scam Says:

Im sorry but I check, found a lot of complaints about them just by typing their name on the interent. I had a hard time trying to get the listing, and they have charged my card for six months when I cancelled on the sixth days. Pls help me flag them in craigslist just search for their number on the section where you found the ads and flagged them.

  43. LISTING FAKE Says:

I receive their listing. And its a fake, the houses are taken. How updated are you NEW LINE EQUITY.

  44. cindy Says:

Hi - i also had a similar experience to linda’s.. the lady on the phone (spoke in crazy broken english) said i have to pay $9.95 for a 1 week trial to get the listings.. i thought it was fishy so i told her i didn’t have my credit card on me and that i’d call back.. she asked me to give me her phone number just in case.. i gave it to her and she was totally dyslexic.. i told her my number was “555-1234″ and she was like “ok, to confirm your number is “555-2458″.. and i said “no - the last 4 numbers are ‘1234′”… and she goes “9820″?? this happened about 5 times until i was like “forget it i’ll call you back”.. which of course i didn’t.. freaking dumbass..
