I have a lease with 3 roommates for 1800. Is my landlord allowed to control how much each of us pays? If so, how would it be written in the contract?

What does it mean when you hear a building (or an apartment I'm not sure which one exactly?) as a Classic Six? I have also heard buildings referred to as: "Pre-War" now I assume that they are talking about World War 2 but what does that mean as far as their design?

So is it possible for the us to charge the builder for the rates which are going near by in the city. We dont have a written agreement that he has told us that he will give us possesion in 1.5 yrs. But the flat has been registered by us. Thanks

My two roommates and I are renting out a house for $1800 a month. One room is shared by 2 people and the other roommate has their own bedroom. What is a fair split of the rent?

Well i already talked to the manager in charge of the apartments were i live and he would always tell me don't worry i talked to the owner about it! I have found several bugs in my home starting off with Flying huge roaches i have found about 10 of them in my home every time i would open the windows they would come in (Windows don't have screens on them i told the manager about it never did anything about it). So i stopped opening the windows but i found out they come in from under my front and backdoor as well! I also found huge black spiders (pretty sure they were black widows) I found about 8 of them in my house! What finally drew me to the point to tell the manager off was when i found one in my sons bed while he was sleeping! I thank my dog for finding it cause she started to bark at it and it tried to get away! After that my son is afraid to sleep in his own bed now he runs to my room to sleep with us! I also explained to him about a shortage in some of the wall outlets cause 4 of them don't work! When we first moved in it wasn't like that and even the house cooling vent was burned out in less then a week since we moved in and he said he would fix it and never did! My question is that i want to withhold rent to pay for these damages and see if i can get pest control to check out the house? Thanks for you help!

I rented a townhome with a friend for about a month before she decided that she wanted to move out. We had a 1 year lease, and the rent was 825/month. I can't afford that on my own, and we're both on the lease. We found a new tenant to take over, but she's tried to hold me responsible for all the costs of re-renting the apartment. But since she decided to move out, am I really responsible for that? And how do I fight it?
she went ahead and covered all the costs of re-renting, and the fees the landlord had, and i've already signed out of the lease. but now she's coming after me for the money. so if i just say 'no, YOU decided to move out, it wasn't my choice, so you're going to pay the fees' does she have any real chance if she were to take me to court?

My rental contract between me and 2 other tenants has been recently breached resulting in the creation of a new contract. My landlord is saying that we unfairly divided the rent in the old contract so he will be controlling how much each tenant will pay, however the contract only states that we are responsible for the total rent amount.
He is saying that he wants no MORE or no LESS than the amount he is allotting per person, but if one person decided to breach the contract we are still responsible for the total amount (we will have one contract not 3 individual) Is he allowed to do this?

My husband and I have been living in an apartment for almost a year now and are thinking about buying a house when our lease runs up. We have already been pre-approved for a first time home buyer's loan and are looking at some houses in our area and price range. We have enough money saved up to pay for the down payment. We are just still unsure if buying a home is a smart thing to do. Do any of you have any advice?
Thanks
