I am staying in a flat on sharing basis with two more girls. I want to vacate this flat but the contract will end on June 2009. Owner is asking to pay me either remaining 3 months rent or ask the other two roommates to share my part of rent when I will leave and ask the roommates to arrange the deposit to return to me. I dont know how to leave this flat ASAP without getting anything deducted from my advance. Please help

Hello, I lost my job and facing a foreclosure on my home. I'm 3 months behind and recently received a letter from the lender about foreclosure proceedings. My wife and I moved in with my parents after being 2 months behind. My question is, do I have to continue to pay my city utility bills (water, garbage, sewer) or can I stop? I don't live there anymore. I do not use the water or put out garbage, etc. I'm currently paying it but wondering if I can stop. I know foreclosing is not a good thing, but it's the only option I have right now. I'm just finding ways to cut my bills until I can afford to pay for it. Any input would be appreciated. FYI, I live in CA.

I live in california I stayed in my apartment 12 days longer than my 30 day notice my landlord never said anything. I turned in the keys two weeks later I receive a letter with part of my security deposit. The landlord deducted $330 dollars for unpaid rent. Are they allowed to take rent out of my security deposit?
