I just moved into a guesthouse on someone's property. I paid first month, last month, and security deposit; and signed a SIX month lease.
I'm now regretting it. The landlady is insane. She has the yard like a pig sty. She has a "handyman" drifter/lover who sometimes sleeps in a shed in the back yard.
If I can't take living here after a month, can I just stop paying and tell her to use my last month and security deposit and I will be leaving after two more months?
What can she do to me? What protections do I have?

Here is a follow up to my last question....I found my lease and read it carefully. However, I am still unclear of what this mean. My rental office is closed and I need answers quick. So, here is what I am confused on. My lease says "After the initial term this lease shall renew for successive terms of 12 months thereafter, provided that in no event shall this lease extend for more than a ten year term. Either party may terminate this lease by giving the other party written notice not less than sixty days in advance of the next upcoming renewal term." What does this mean? My landlord doesn't open until Tuesday and I need some type of insight immediately.
Here is my initial question: My lease was over in my apartment on December 19, 2009. However, I was unaware that they start your lease over without prior notice (at least that's what they told me). Now I am ready to move. I have been told that if you give a 30 day notice it will not go your credit. Is this correct? What all do I need to do so that it will not go on my credit?

I'm in the military and relocating to Baltimore this summer. I'm looking for a SAFE affordable neighborhood to live in. I've been researching online and from what i've been reading, Baltimore is a nice places with patchy crime areas here and there. I just want to movie someplace that's nice, easy access and I can feel safe and leave my car on the street and not worry about it getting broken into.

So if your house is within the border of town A but the street that's it's on as well as the street that it is facing upon is on the border of town B... than what town is it your house really in? Both A and B?
Or is it debatable and thus any answer is as correct?
This is confusing because the street address is one town - however the house is within the borders of another town....
Please try your best to give the most accurate answers in terms of what most counties would consider accurate.
thank you.
